My studio

  • Because I'm nearly 80 years old, I have sold the most of my big workshop and have now a small workspace at first floor of my home. In the cellar, I have, after as before a workroom with an enamel-grinding-machine, coarse and dirty work and a big kiln. Thus I have to reorganize my enamel and goldsmith workspace at a much smaller room. I store the enamels which I often need, in little film containers on a stairs-shaped -rack.

Larger quantities of enamel I store in a drawer cabinet. The little kiln is standing on unglazed ceramic tiles.

Left hand I have a small goldsmith work desk. The wall around the workspace I have paneled with wood-colored particle board. Above the particle board I fasten shelves. Under the shelves I screwed round clasps. Here I can hang up wires, mandrels etc. Into the particle board I drove nails. Here I can hang up hammers, jewelers saws, scissors, pliers and other tools. So I have all tools near by the hand.

This is a rack with mostly used pliers, snippers aso. Very hands-on. The workspace is not complete yet. Allways if I work, I drive new nails in for other tools.

And last but not least a section of my library with much more than 100 enamel- and goldsmith books and catalogues. Edmund www.emailkunst.de
